Favorite thing:
If you only have a day in Stockholm, take the open-top bus tour to see the highlights of the city. You'll be impressed with how many parks and how much water there is every where! And yes, Old Town (Gamla stan) is a must see as well.
But if you have two days then make sure you spend one of them taking a boat out in to the archipelago. It is so relaxing and gorgeous! You can take an old steam boat on an hour's trip to "the capital" of the archipelago: Waxholm. Walk around in the nice little, quaint town, have some lunch and some ice cream and then take the boat back to the city.
Or you can island-hop on the many boats that traffic the many, many islands (around 20000 all in all) and stay at hotels or youth hostels. This would, however, require even some more time in Stockholm. And why not? This city is too gorgeous to pass by. You must come and see it at least once!
Fondest memory:
Summer evenings spent by the water somewhere. Preferrably at a caf?, watching the sunset.
Favorite thing:
You have to discover the Archipelago.
You will be stunned by the beauty
and serenity and wonderful nature.
