The easiest way to get here is to walk down Västerlångatan, that is the most busy street in the Gamla Stan. Go down to the next big street: Stora Nygatan and that's where you will find Stampen. Stampen is not far from the subway station Gamla Stan. Turn left when you get out of the subway station, go until you see a big fancy house with Latin words on top (that's the house of nobility). Now you just turn right to Stora Nygatan and you’ll see the pub. Leave a Comment Theme: Live MusicAddress: Stora Nygatan 5Directions: Gamla StanWebsite: www.stampen.se

Before I start with the 'real' nightlife tips, let me tell you first what evening or night means in Stockholm. It really depends on what time of the year you go here, summer of winter, there is a huge difference how many daylight hours you'll have. In the winter you only have 6 hours of daylight and the sun will go down already at 3 in the afternoon, hahaha, so plenty of time to enjoy the 'nights'. But in summer you have to wait a while before you can see the orange colours of the sunset, as the days are long! On the longest day (21 June) you'll have 18,5 hours of sunlight (time between sunrise and sunset), so there are only 5,5 hours left that you can call the 'night' ;-)) In the extra pictures you can see some 'nighttime' picture of Stockholm. This Medieval Pub was great. It was tucked in one of the sidealleys of Gamla Stan's streets, and I swear, the bartender nearly cartwheeled into the front door! (No, actually, I think he was moving a big round table.. ). Anyhow, you go into this secret passage, down the stairs, it's looking very much like a cave. This pub is so little and cosy, you can tell it's a popular hide-out for locals. There, there is someone playing the lute and a violin, the bartender is getting into theatrics (later on, breathing fire with his firey vodka). The something lingonberry juice alcohol was very delicious. I was served in handmade earthenware mugs that looks like it was handmolded out of muddy clay. Everything was very charming. You should go there if you see it :)
No dress code, being medieval would be great tho ;) Leave a Comment Theme: Eating and DrinkingAddress: You'll find it if you're a real traveller ;DDirections: Gamla Stan

A visit to Gamla Stan at night during Christmas time is a must. I was there during the First Advent. I particularly enjoyed walking among the crowd in the warm orange light at the square. At the square, stalls were set up, selling Christmas items and food. There were also Christmas carolling along the alleys. Leave a Comment Theme: Other
