    The Dubliner

Irish Pubs are perfect places to enjoy a pint of beer and to meet other travellers or nice VT members in a cosy atmosphere. The Dubliner is one of the biggest Irish Pubs in Stockholm and offers both a bar and a restaurant with pub food. Most major sporting events are shown live on big TV screens.

    Directions:
The Dubliner is located at two places in Stockholm:
The Dubliner, Smalandsgatan 8, 11146 Stockholm
The Dubliner, Hornsgatan 104, 11726 Stockholm

Wirströms pub: Fancy a beer or whisky at an Irish pub?

    by sim1 Updated Mar 1, 2004

    Wirstrms pub

Want to enjoy a nice beer or whisky: visit this traditional Irish pub! It is Wirströms Pub and it is located in the Gamla Stan (Old town) in Stockholm. Wirströms used to be a bakery dating back to the year 1800. The cellar vault, with its many rooms to get lost in, dates from as far back as the fourteenth century.

It is a nice pub and a great place to sit down, relax, and enjoy one of their many beers from tap. Hahaha, and it must be a great pub as they have Grolsch beer here!!! :-))) The whisky lovers will be happy here as well as they have a selection of 130 different whisky's. And when you are feeling a bit hungry and fancy some pub food, than you are in the right spot as well. You can order some traditional pub food like fish and chips, burgers, club sandwiches and many more for under 100 SEK.

Downstairs live bands perform every night between Wednesday and Saturday. On Monday evenings there are Jam Sessions.

The pub is open every day from 11:00 to 1:00 at night. Credit cards are accepted.

Dress Code: Come as you are, in jeans or suit; it doesn't matter.

Irish Pubs: How to get to Wirströms pub

    Map: getting to Wirstrms pub

Wirströms pub is located in the Gamla Stan (The Old Town) at Stora Nygatan 13, just down the street from Stampen (see previous nightlife tip). The easiest way to get here is to walk down Västerlångatan, that is the most busy street in the Gamla Stan. Go down to the next big street: Stora Nygatan and that's where you will find Wirströms pub.

Wirströms is not far from the subway station Gamla Stan. Turn left when you get out of the subway station, go until you see a big fancy house with Latin words on top (that's the house of nobility). Now you just turn right to Stora Nygatan and you’ll find the pub.

Dress Code: Come as you are, in jeans or suit; it doesn't matter.

    A Pint of Tetley's ;-)

Wirtstroms is a kind of Irish Pub in historical cellar vaults. It has various small and big rooms; all of them are decorated nicely. They have a large selection of drinks and snacks. Various live bands perform downstairs and major sports events are shown on the big screen.

The Dubliner in Stockholm has moved to a new address at Hötorget. Do not go to Smålandsgatan looking for The Dubliner! Also The Dubliner Southside is no longer there.

There is only one Dubliner in Stockholm, the original Irish pub in town, from 1992. The address is:
    Hollädaragatan 1
    111 36 Stockholm

    Tel 08-679 7707

Dubliner's Irish Pub: Most Fun Spot in Town

    Dubliner Stockholm

THE best place in Stockholm to enjoy a live band, meet beautiful women and dance on the tables, not necessarily in that order! Live music every night and always a good crowd, unless Iron Maiden is in town for a concert...

Dress Code: Casual but there is a cover charge after about 9 or 10 pm.

There is an Irish pub in Gamla Stan. The night I was there, there was a guitarist who was playing and singing many good songs.
Fun atmosphere, singalongs when there is a guitar player. I would say it is not typical Swedish, though.

    Dress Code: Very casual.

The Dubliner: Live music and dancing

by Vincedem Written May 29, 2006
    live concerts

This is a very nice and big Irish Pubs where there are a lot of concerts. I have been there for a couple times now and everytime the atmosphere is simply GREAT... The live bands play covers from bands like U2, The Beatles,... and after a while everybody starts to get in the mood and starts dancing!

This price is very popular and quite crowded because it´s almost a guaranteed that you will have fun and most people seem to know that.

One negative thing: the entrance is 60 kroner and then you also have to pay 20 kroner for your jacket. But if you wanna pay that, then it´s really worth it!

    Irish Pubs: Blues n whiskey!

    by male_sweden Updated Aug 10, 2007

Great pub, they call it an Irish Pub but i would say English spoken pub. All kinds of people from every where in Stockholm, Scandinavia an Europe gathering here 4 a nice draft beer or whiskey or whine or what ever u desire.... Even some food they can offer 4 the customers. I go here because of the nice Blues down stairs in the basement....

Dress Code: Come as you are! No dress codes here.... ofcourse! lol

    Irish Pubs: O'Learys

by redhotwax Written Mar 28, 2005

Really cool place near the Slussen subway station! It's in the pub street of Stockholm, so it's pretty easy to find!

If you like football, this is the place for you on Saturday afternoon! Enter the place and find a massive screen with live English footie, a restaurant area where every booth has it's own plasma tv to follow the match, and there's even two screens above the toilets!

Besides serving quality pints of beer, the food is really good too! Definitely a good place to hang out on football afternoons and early evenings!

Dress Code: Casual, they do check IDs sometimes. They've got an easy going door policy, with not annoying bouncers selecting people! Come in and have a great time.

    O'Learys: Always a safe bet

by MickeH Written Jul 7, 2005
    Have a pint!

O'Learys is always a safe choice in any city, and nowhere more so than in Stockholm.
A good outdoor serving area, combined with a restaurant part just inside and further in is the main bar and a small stage for musicians.
Seatings by the bar is mainly long benches, encuraging mixing of people and friendlieness.

Nice atmosphere and good service makes you feel right at home. So pull up a bar chair and lets have a pint of the black stuff.
