Walking around Åsögatan
One of the nicest and well hidden streets in Södermalm is Åsögatan. This is the street where you can find typical Swedish red, wooden houses in the middle of the city. To get there, take the green line of the underground (T-bana) to Medborgarplatsen. From the station head south along Söderleden, and after a few corners, turn left (east) into Åsögatan.
While walking in the street, it's worth to have a detour to Sofia kyrka (Sofia church). To get there, turn right into Klippgatan, the church is right at the end of the street. After visiting the church, continue the walk along Åsögatan.
You can find the old houses (most of which were built in the 18th century) near the end of the street. When you reach the cliff, turn left, and return in the next street called Lotsgatan, where you can see some more of such buildings.
For the way back, the best route is to take Fjällgatan and Katarinavägen, which streets go along the northern edge of Södermalm (right above Stadsgårdshamnen), and provide wonderful views of central Stockholm, Kastellholmen, Skeppsholmen and Gamla Stan (the old town).
You can find a map of this route among the pictures (hope it's visible).

On the streets of Söder
When you have seen Gamla Stan, done all shopping on Drottninggatan and visited the museums, then you can take trip to Södermalm. Start from Slussen and Södermalmstorg, just a minute walk from this crowded and noisy place, you will find the genuine feeling of Söder.
At Sodermalm one can come across unique things like this. When I was walking close to the lift Katarina, I came across this amazing thing. A man climbing up the rope in a ship. I was wondering what he might be doing and then I realised that it was a puppet and not a man really. I couldn't make out the reason for such a concept. Must be just for fun. Funny it is!!!!
The Cliffs of Sodermalm
For beautiful, panoramic views over Stockholm city centre there's no better place than the Cliffs of Sodermalm. These cliffs are situated on the northern shore of the island of Sodermalm and they can be accessed in the following way:
Exit at SLUSSEN T-Bana metro station and head towards the Hilton hotel. Walk past the main entrance and as you cross the road, take the first street on the right. Climb up the hill and once again take the first street on the right and then the first on the left. You should eventually find a small viewing area with wooden seats and picnic tables. Now sit back and enjoy the view.
The sourthern part of Stockholm is not often visited by tourists, but there are loads of shops and cool hangout places to keep you busy. Just get off at Slussen subway station and start exploring this colorful area.

Generally Söder has a nice atmosphere, including all the differnet places locateed ther. Just take the metro to Medborgarplatsen and the walk along on the smaller perpendicular streets to Götgatan.
Hagaparken located between Stockholm city and Solna, just take the bus 515 from Odenplan and get off at Haga. It's a big park with some summerplaces that one of Swedens kings used to have in the 1700-th. Nice in the summertime.
Soder Malm is the new trendy...
Soder Malm is the new trendy area of Stockholm. What used to be the working class area has become the home of the youthful elite. It is cool, anyhow...
