Södra Terrassen (Formerly Mosebacke): Beer Garden with Spectacular View
This outside beer garden is owned by the Södra Theater, which also runs two other indoor restaurants in the same complex. Decent food is served with standard Swedish beer for (relatively) reasonable prices. During the summer, occasional outdoor concerts are staged here.
There are two factors that make the place especially noteworthy. First is the small beer kiosk that sells an impressive assortment of bottled microbrews from all around Sweden. Sadly, the kiosk is not always open, but definitely something to look out for when it is.
The second and even more important thing is the absolutely amazing hilltop view. If you're lucky enough to grab a cliffside table on a clear day, you are in for a treat for the senses while you eat your meal and/or drink your beverage. Be warned to bring a jacket or sweater: even when I visited on a sunny August day, it got quite chilly at times.
The beer garden is naturally only open in good weather, daily from 11AM - 10PM, open until 11PM on Fridays and Saturdays.
Favorite Dish: The food generally features standard snacks served on paper plates with plastic silverware. I rather liked the gravad lax (cured salmon). When the microbrew kiosk is open, you can get yourself a bottle and a glass brandy snifter in which to pour the beverage. Check out the selection and pick the one that most catches your fancy.
