The no 1 amusement park in Skandivavia. Here you can spend a whole day with fun from rides to ticket stands, lottery, good food, ice cream and so on. The entry fee is 70 SEK about 7 EURO. I recommend to buy a ride pass (280 SEK) then you can ride all day how much you want but if you dont want to ride so much you can buy coupons, 1 coupon costs 20 SEK and for a ride it takes 1-3 coupons. Fore more price information wisit Gröna Lunds website. I recommend that you take the ferry from Slussen to Gröna Lund (Djurgården) you get a great photo opportunity. The ferry costs 30 SEK or 3 EURO Fore more pictures and information of the amusement park Gröna Lund look at my travelogues. Address: DjurgårdenDirections: By Buss 44 and 47 By ferry from Slussen it takes about 7 minutes.Website: www.gronalund.com

Flying Boat... We did it! We liked it! by NC_Ziggy Not so large as Amusement Parks go, but interesting still... Children would surely love it! The Haunted House was fun because I grabbed some kid in front of me and scared the *%#@ out of him! But I smiled and told him I was just teasing and he smiled at me the rest of the way through... Lot's of things to do from bumper cars to "games of skill" plus many other rides. You can get here by bus or ferry... We arrived by bus and returned by ferry for a nice late afternoon breath of fresh Stockholm air on a sunny day in June... Leave a Comment

Gröna Lund is the amusement park by the water in Stockholm. It's located on the island of Djurgården and close to other attractions like Skansen and Vasa Museum. The park has something for everyone, but the rides I go to are the roller coasters and thrill rides! On the coaster department they have 4: Jetline (4.5 G force!), Kvasten (new from 2008) - which means "The broom" and is inspired by Harry Potter's world, Vilda Musen (the wild mouse), a kiddie ride and new for 2009: Insane!!!!! Jetline, Kvasten and Vilda Musen are interlocked together. They host Europe's highest free fall ride called Fritt Fall, with an altitude of 80 meters. From here you'll have a great panoramic view of Stockholm before they let gravity do its work. And as of 2006 they have twisted the ride a little, by adding a tilt of 30 degrees, so you're facing the ground as you fall. For those looking for quieter rides, they have a love tunnel, a funny house, arcade games and other kid friendly rides. During the summer they also offer concerts at night. Address: DjurgårdenDirections: Close to the Vasa Museum and Skansen, take the bus 47 at the Central Station towards Waldermarsudde and get off at Konsthallen/Gröna Lund stop. The Djurgården ferry goes there from Nybrokajen during the summer.Website: www.gronalund.com

If you are looking for an amusement park, Gröna Lund on Djurgården is THE place to be! You can find here all traditional rides, where you'll be shaken around in all ways imaginable, from up side down, left to right and of course flying high up into the air and fall even quicker down again. With two rollercoaster and a staggering high free-fall attraction, Gröna Lund should satisfy the thrill-seeker in you. I didn't dare to get any closer yet then to look at it from the waterfront, hahaha, which was more then close enough for me ;-) But I am sure that for the ones that like amusement parks Gröna Lund must be fun. I can only imagine how the views from the rollercoaster at Gröna Lund must be: High up in the sky the view over the waters of Stockholm and the surrounding city should be wonderful.... IF you have time AND you dare to look at it of course, while racing up and down that rollercoaster ;-) In the photo you can see some views of Gröna Lund from the water. Here is a link to the Opening hours of Gröna Lund. Entrance fee: adults 60 SEK, Children 4 - 12 year: 30 SEK. Free entrance for children from 0 - 3 years and for pensioners (65+). In addition to the entrance fee you need to pay for the separate attractions. A ride will cost you 1 to 3 coupons, costing 20 SEK each. 20 coupons are 300 SEK. If you want to have a whole day fun without worrying about the number of rides an all day bracelet to the attractions costs 260 SEK, and evenings only 190 SEK. Most beautiful way to travel: by ferry from "Slussen" or "Nybroviken", alternatively are the ferries from Sickla and Hammarby Sjöstad. Website: www.gronalund.se Other Contact: mail@gronalund.com

Whilst Gröna Lund is smaller than Liseberg in Göteborg and not as green and "logical", it still merits a visit as not many amusement parks can boast such a wonderful sea view! Ride on the "Octopus" swinging its arms above the Baltic Sea or enjoy a few seconds of harbour inlet panorama before the rollercoaster throws you downwards :-))) Gröna Lund also has some decent pop concerts regularly and lots for food and drink. Leave a Comment Address: Allmänna GrändDirections: Djurgården, just after Vasa Museum and before Skansen. The classic is to go straight there by boat from Slussen.Website: www.gronalund.se

by Arial_27 Gröna Lund (also known as Tivoli) is an theme park on water. It has several rides in attractions, including the Fritt Fall, and Swings of the Century. (If you've ever been on the Drop Zone at Canada's Wonderland in Toronto the Fritt Fall is at least 30 feet taller than that! - DEFINATELY not recommended for those who have fear of heights) There are also a few rollercoasters, and plenty of rides ideal for children, and even some older thrill-seekers. If you don't want to spend a fortune, I would pack a lunch or a snack in your bag because like any amusment park, it certaintly isn't cheap to eat there! At the banks of Djurgarden, you cannot miss Sweden's oldest attraction park: Grona Lund. In the 18th century, the story goes, there was a pub at this place that was called "Grona Lund" which means Green Bush. A certain man named Jakob Schultheis used this name when he opened his park here in 1883. I was the very first of its sort in Sweden, although it didn't have much more then a carroussel that was moved by horses. Today, that is very different. The park has about 10.000 guests every day during its (short) season of 130 days, which starts in May and lasts normally until the beginning of October. The park has two rollercoaster and the top-attraction: The Power Tower. This has the world's highest free fall - for the moment - with 80 metres. There also are lots of attractions for children and some restaurants and pubs, and there is a stage where concerts can be held. Bob Marley performed here in 1980 with a 32.000 people audience. The prices in the park are quite high. You have to buy coupons from a machine and every attraction has its own number of coupons. Of course the Power Tower has the highest. Prices to the children-attractions are more reasonable and only cost one coupon. At several places in the park you'll find these machine together with folders with maps and rates. Leave a Comment

Spökhuset by martin_nl Situated in Gröna Lund is the Spökhuset. It is a haunted house and it is definately the scariest I have ever been in. It is very dark so you hardly see a thing. Real people come scare you from behind, and at some point it feels quite terrifying. This place is not really for chickens, since quite often people come out of the house crying!! Power Tower by martin_nl Gröna Lund is the oldest amusementpark in Sweden and opened for the first time in 1883. Every year the park opens in May 1st for 180 days. It is a small park but it is fun. Go into the rollercoaster and visit the Haunted House, which is quite scary!! The best attraction in the park has to be the Fritt Fall or Power Tower. This tower is 80 metres high and has a cabin that goes to the top, and guess what? IT DROPS DOWN FAST. Look at the pic to see how fast we fell down!! Leave a Comment

by bottleofdoom Grona Lund is really fun if you like amusement parks. They have a roller coaster & lots of crazy rides. The Crazy House was one of thee best I've ever been in. We went here on Friday then on Wednesday to finish the rides we didn't get to go on the first time. Yes, we're still kids at heart. You gotta love the guy on the unicycle bonking unsuspecting folks on the head with a blow-up hammer!! Leave a Comment Address: Djurgarden
