This is a very beautiful statue of King Gustav III on Skeppsbron in the Gamla Stan area. Skeppsbron (implying "The Ship's Bridge" in swedish) is a street by the waterside in Gamla stan, that stretches from the bridge Strömbron in front of the Royal Palace to Slussen.

The Tobacco & Match Museum is a museum of industrial and cultural history with extensive collections detailing the history of Swedish tobacco and matches.
The Tobacco Museum was founded in 1938. The objects collected came from some of the hundreds of tobacco factories operating in Sweden prior to 1915, when the tobacco monopoly was instituted.
In 1965, the Tobacco Museum moved to Skansen, and in 2000, it was complemented with a match-related section and changed its name to the Tobacco & Match Museum. The museum is run with the financial support of Swedish Match AB, which also owns the collections.

The Swedish author August Strindberg (1849-1912) spent the last four years of his life in a building he called The Blue Tower. The reconstructed apartment, consisting of three rooms, and his library of some 3,000 works are today the core of the Strindberg Museum. There are also exhibitions presenting various aspects on Strindberg’s life and work.
The museum arranges furthermore temporary exhibitions, guided tours, lectures, theatre performances and other events. There is also a bookshop with books about Strindberg as well as his own writings.

The Museum of Medieval Stockholm in Kulturhuset
Due to the renovation of Norrbro (the North Bridge) the museum has moved from Helgeandsholmen to a location in Kulturhuset. While the work on the bridge is taking place we are building the new Museum of Medieval Stockholm which is expected to open in the early 2010.
The Museum of Medieval Stockholm opened in 1986. It describes the emergence and medieval development of the town and is built up round some of the permanent heritage monuments which came to light during the archaeological excavations on Helgeandsholmen (The Island of the Holy Spirit) between 1978 and 1980. The display area comprises 1,750 square metres and there are some 850 objects on display. The objects come from the whole of the town area

On the highest point of Observatoriekullen (the Observatory Hill), boasting a panoramic view over the city, lies the old Stockholm Observatory. From here research within the fields of astronomy, meteorology and geography was conducted during the 18th and 19th centuries.
Today this building holds a museum, dedicated to the history of science, and run by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. The museum tells us of the history of the building, and of some of the activities which have taken place here.
The foundations of the Observatory were laid down in 1748 by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences. This was to become their very first own building.
Several of Sweden’s most prominent scientists are associated with the Observatory. Here, you will meet some of the astronomers and explorers that have made Swedish research internationally renowned.

"What is creativity and how can creative activity best be encouraged?" "Which is more important to the creative process: the individual or the environment?". The Centennial Exhibition examines these questions by presenting selected Laureates and milieus from the 100-year history of the Nobel Prize. The Exhibition does not provide specific answers, but gives visitors the chance to think about these questions for themselves.
