It will be you and other tourist if there are any in there at the same time as you. It is a small bar and they give you coats and gloves to wear. I cant remember but I think it was like $30 to get in with 1-2 drinks.

I would still go again even though it was a trap.

in stockholm, this is probably one of the worst so called aussie bars world wide. the management are swedes..most of whom are pretty nice...but not this lot...they have a completely uptight attitude vs. laid back aussie style.

its a place which tries to get aussies to visit, which they do when they first arrive in stockholm. however, the point is missed that australians are pretty laid back. try to avoid this place..a much better alternative is the australian bar at the bagpipers inn stockholm. at least there you can relax without being hassled by uptight management who have never lived in australia, let alone know what its like to have a joke or two.

Unique Suggestions: dont eat in the restaurant....slow and rude service. dont try to have a sense of humour in the bar...it will not be appreciated.

    Fun Alternatives: bagpipers inn stockholm.

    Sunday night ---DEAD---

by bamms Written Nov 11, 2004

It's amazing how on a Sunday night Stockholm can be so boring and just plain DEAD. I went out with a friend of mine looking for ANY place where we could hang out, drink a couple of beers and "who knows" maybe meeting some girls... I have never been so wrong in my life... there was absolutely nothing opened after 11pm and the whole city was just closed like during a curfew. Terrible. I had a great time in Stockholm, but with so many beautiful girls all around and so many great bars that was my biggest sunday night wasted time of my life.

Unique Suggestions: Just go out early during any sunday night and rent a movie or something.

Fun Alternatives: Going out on any other day of the week?

    Clubs are not for everyone

    Brink drinks from home.

Don't come here for clubbing or drinking. You need to be at least 24 years old to get into the best clubs around Stureplan. And it's not even sure that you are allowed in if your looks aren't alright. Yes, it stinks. And the drinks are expensive.

Unique Suggestions: Smile and bring cash.

Fun Alternatives: The alternative rock scene is rather good. Check out Debaser, Södra teatern, Accelerator and Vinterviken (in the summer time).

    Holy Expensive Batman!

Yes, we all know Scandinavia is expensive. But at a bar called Sturecompagniet, stupid me ordered a Long Island Iced Tea (what was I thinking??) and was charged 23 Euros. Yes, that's right. For one drink! (now to be fair, a Long Island Iced Tea does have rather a large amount of alcohol in it). But I made that drink last all night, let me tell you!

Unique Suggestions: Drink something cheap. I'm thinking beer...

The area around the central train station is a real tourist trap. As well as shopping in this area.
Soo extremely boring! Nothing to do at night. Deserted down athmosphere. Louzy pubs, boring restaurants. One exception is the Fashing jazz club at Kungsgatan. Take off to Kungsgatan. Turn left and you'll find Fasching + some huge discotecs - one of them for 18-ers, one for more grown ups. If you walk to the east (right) at Kungsgatan you'll find various restaurants around Hötorget, cafés, some nice Irish pubs (Galways and The Loft), and then you'll be down at Stureplan, the party ghetto zone. Much much better area, though. But at some of these venues not even normal Stockholmians ever get entrance during Fri-Sat. Hopeless Q-ing. The atmosphere at some venues (like Sophies bar at Biblioteksgatan) is so deadly serious bad tempered because people try so hard to be someone special, at least frequent enough to get that vip or gold card or...) But if you're a girl and sexy enough, you'll always get in.

    AGE LIMIT
If you are in your early 20s or younger, you may not be able to get into some clubs. Some have remarkably high minimum age limits, so it's advisable for younger visitors to check first. It is even possible to find some of the more upmarket discos imposing a minimum age of 26 for men and 24 for women.
