    Sundbyberg Folkets Hus

Sundbyberg Folket Hus (Peoples house of Sundbyberg) was built in 1903 and was for many years the central point of Sundbyberg. Now the house is hidden behind other houses and a bit hard to find, but it's still used as a public meeting place.

In 1903 this house costed 9000 SEK to build, that's about 1200 USD!

    The barracks in Rissne

The Rissne area was until 1963 the centre for the artillery unit called A1. Many street names in Rissne still reminds about the old military presence, but else the best trace to find from this era is four barracks, today used as schools.

In the forest around Rissne you can actually still see the trenches built during military exercises.

    Centrumkyrkan - Central Church

    Centrumkyrkan in Sundbyberg

Even though Centrumkyrkan is located just above the north exit from the subway station it's very easy to miss. But compared to the church of Sundbyberg, just located some 100 m from here, the Centrumkyrkan is much more beautiful.

The unusual with this church is that it's not related to any special parish, it's an independent Christian church with service on Sundays.

    Duvbo Fire station

In a small park in Duvbo the old fire station is located. It's unused since many years, but still wroth a visit for watching the typical Swedish architecture, and as a good contrast to the modern firestations.

    The Church in Sundbyberg

The Sundbyberg Church is located just outside the main streets in Sundbyberg, on a bit hidden location.

From a distance the church doesn't look so special, almost a bit boring, but if you take the time to do a real visit you will find that it's worth the trip.

Sundbyberg Church is located at Rosengatan 15.

    70's feeling at Tuletorget

by vec Updated Sep 28, 2003

    Tuletorget in Sundbyberg

For all those who like the 70's, the area around Tuletorget is worth a visit. Tuletorget is just a local market place with a few stores and restaurants, nothing special about that. But when you get there you will notice that it feels and looks like not much have happened since the 70's. So if you want to get a veiw of a Swedish 70's, you might take a trip here. And when you are there, check ot the Japanese restaurant Sushi Kamon on Tulegatan 10. Some say that they have the best Sushi in the Stockholm area. But please don't expect to much from the shopping, you may better do that on some other place.

Easiest to get to Tuletorget is with either of the blue subway lines. Take line 10 to Hjulsta and stop at Duvbo, or take like 11 to Akalla and stop at Nackrosen. Then check the map in the subway station to find the way to Tuletorget.
