April Festival, Uppsala

Of course with all the litter on the ground, this is a great opportunity for kids and anyone who wants to make an extra buck by gathering the empty bottles and cans. They are recycled and you gan get as much as 0,4 euro for a bottle.

Partying goes on all over town, leaving its blunt traces. Afterwards this is what the ground looks like, beautiful isnt it!

Even though the city provides lots of extra trash cans on this day, people cant be bothered to walk even a few metres to throw their garbage in them They just leave it on the spot!

Everyone in Uppsaala goes out in the streets on April 30th for the grand festival. At three o clock you bring your white (or brown) graduation hat and gather in fron of library Carolina Redivia to wave it in the air. Then it is off to drink champagne at one of the student clubs (if you are a sudent).

This day involves heavy partying and drinking too much for many of the 30 000 students in Uppsala. These two fellows are wearing their student costumes - overalls - and walking down from the castle area, probably heading for the next party...
