    For a cozy break

For a cozy break, try Hugo's coffehouse. It is small, crowded, and with a huge selection of coffee, sandwiches etc.
I really like the atmosphere in this place, and there is a smoking and a smoke-free section.

Favorite Dish: Chicken and avocado sandwich with Balkan coffee. It's just good.

Cafes: The most famous cafe in Uppsala

The Ofvandahls cafe was established 1887 and is the most known caré in Uppsala.
it has always been very popular among students (and others) to just relax with a coupe of coffe and perhaps a bit of a cake (that they make themselfs).
There are several small rooms to sit in, and they have kept it the old way with old stylded furnitures.....

Favorite Dish: If you go there, try the bakery "Studenska" (= Female student). It really taste like a pretty girl/or clever one (i think..he,he..)......i dont really know but i think this bakery can just be found here in Uppsala and not anywhere else in Sweden...

    Cafe Uroxen: Breakfast at Uppsala

by cucumbre Written Nov 5, 2004 57 reviews

There are some unique wall paintings on the interior of the cafe. I remembered the male owner said that they tell an old story. Anyway, you can always ask the owners (a young couple) when you are there. They are very friendly. :)

Many of the muffins, pastries and chocolates are made by the owners with their own receipts. They are fantastic. I love to go there again.

Favorite Dish: There was a variety of chocolates and they were really nice. I bought some from the cafe as a gift for a friend in S'pore. (Surprisingly, they didn't melt after almost a week.) My friend agreed that they were very well done.
