In the summertime they build an enlargement of the restaurant out on the pavement, but it's got a wooden floor and glass windows, so there is no risk of getting cold, but on the other hand you don't get to feel like sitting outdoors really either.

They have a nice pub menu with dishes not too expensive, from around SEK 70 and upwards, which is quite alright even for a pub (and far less than ordinary restaurants).
The menues are put on video band casings and if you open the case there is yatzee game inside. There is also a large screen on which they show sports events almost all evenings of the week.
This is also the pub for Hotel Savoy which is up the stairs and for the Scala theatre which is next door.

I've tried their "Pitcher's macka" a sandwich with chicken on it in a curry sauce and it was delicios, but there are also pasta, other sandwiches and so on. Anyway there are four McD in Karlstad, one downtown next to Filmstaden movie theatre on Drottninggatan, One on Norrstrand next to the motorway at Sundsta round-about, One at Wåxnäs next to the motorway and one in Bergvik shopping mall. During the summer most people enjoy takingn a stroll down to the inner harbour , where some small restaurants are open just for the summer.

This is with no doubt the best lunch restaurant in Karlstad! The guys owning it are very nice and chilled out and their food is absolutely yummie. Its a bit off the beaten track since its not right next to the shopping streets down town, but on the other side its right next to Karlstad Youth Hostel which I think is the best accommodation option :). Their lunch is always a buffé of a varied selection of swedish and international foods, its easy to just eat so much you can hardly move afterwards...
