In August/September you will find the lingonberries out in the woods (Swedish name: lingon). This berry is sometimes called the "red gold of the woods". It is not so sweet as the bilberry, but has a very nice fresh taste. It goes with meat and fish, or as something between the meals with corn-flakes and milk. You can also make lemonade, normally used as a lemonade to drink when having dinner. This is my favorite!Of course you will find this in the supermarket as well. To get the best taste try to find some type with pure lingon (not mixed with apples or something). A good one is what is called Rårörda lingon (stirred without cooking).
Go out and pick some bilberries!

In July you will find the bilberries in the woods (Swedish name: blåbär).This very sweet small berry you can eat freshly taken from the wook with milk and sugar on a plate (that´s the best way).Or you can make jam or lemonade.Very good also is to make a bilberry pie.If you don´t have the possibility to get out in the woods you can buy the jam in every supermarket and take home.
