From Lycksele bus station you can get to the villages around Lycksele by small local busses, but also to other near by cities like Umeå, Skellefteå, Storuman, Vilhelmina, and Mo I Rana in Norway.
Between Lycksele and Umeå you can choose from 9 trips in each direction, starting with the first morning bus at 05.45 ending at 19.45 in the evening. The trip normally takes about two hours and costs about 100 SEK.

The town of Lycksele is divided in two parts by the river Umeälven. In the winter a road is made on the rivers ice, as a shortcut to connecting the two town halfs.
Just remember to follow and respect the signs. If you see the sign saying "Varning svag is", then it's a "weak ice warning" and you should stay on solid ground.
