    3.5 out of 5 starsHelpfulness

    Is the exchange for cars in the winters, if you're going somewhere, you're going with a snowcat. The larger roads are open but they don't lead you anywhere.
    It's when you're using a snowcat you're able to see something. This is quite expensive if you don't own one or know somebody who has one.
    But I can tell you, it's worth it!
    It's easy, and it's quite safe!

    Don't miss to buy sami souvenirs!

    Don't miss the big sami market 2003-07-25 -> 2003-07-27

    Buy food?
    There are quite plenty country shops, but of course there are regular food stores and a low-price shop!
    You can't miss it.

    If you want to buy fishing rods, snowboards, or anything that's related to sports you should visit Tärnaby Sport.
    You can also rent ski's or snowboards.

  • Famous Moutains and Names

    Can be seen in the area! This is Sytertoppen (1797m) and is a holy mountain for the Sami's.The names on places as mountains, lakes and villages are all on Sami language and it can be really tricky sometime to figure out for the Swedes and foreign tourists what the mean.. Just ask a local and he'll explaine it for you!

  • Chars

    Arctic Char is a famous and exotic fish who lives in mountains lakes and brooks. This has been an important fish for the sami's and the local people. It's almost the only fish that you can catch in the winters and they like cold water temps. I hope you not miss this when you're here. Mail me about wich lake to go to and I'll give you my secrets....

  • Fishing make life worth living

    When I go to Tärnaby for one or two weeks, I never fish in the same water twice! I always pick another river or lake were I havn't allready been to! For those who loves fishing, this is the place. I still have hundreds of waters I havn't been to yet..Trout? Char? Grayling? They all taste different but they are all an exquisite meal!
