Every Swedish town has one

This was originally the church for peasants from the surrounding country side. Its oldest part is from 12-th century.

Build in the late 13-th c. as a monastery church of the Franciscan Order. Of the monastery itself nothing remains.

Was a guild house in the 15-th century.

The town hall was originally build as a church 1472-76 but was in the 16-th century converted into the king’s residence. In 1640 it got its present function.

Contrary to most Swedish towns in the Middle Ages that were build entirely of wood; some townspeople in Arboga build their homes in stone. A few old houses remain.
