Göteborg tourist office is situated at Kungsportsplatsen. They can help you with the usual stuff: here you can get general tourist info, city maps, buy tickets and Göteborg cards etc.
They can help you find the accomodation as well - it's also possible to book in advance through their website. Look for "Göteborg Package" that includes accommodation and the Göteborg Pass that gives you free admission to museums, Liseberg amusement park and free rides with the local public transport.

One of the drawbacks of big shopping centres at the periphery of cities is that the shops in the old centre are declining.
This is not the case in Göteborg since the big part of the old centre is transformed into one big super-shopping centre. Several blocks are converted into shopping streets covered with glass, with air-conditioning and usual shops and services - from the local H&M stores to inevitable McDonald's and Burger King restaurants.
Although sometimes crowded, with all security installations and general feeling of shopping arcade these streets have nothing left of the european urban life.

More street art! This time though it wasn't so much on the street, as in the courtyard of some building near Konthusbodarna. I just sneeked in and took a quick snap. There really are a lot of statues, sculptures etc on the streets of the city though - in all kinds of styles. Leave a Comment

Haga is very old. But there is modern shopping and lots of "happening" there. Excellent walking/people watching opportunities.
So many different things to see and do. From water, museums, and food - to shopping and photo ops.
