A sleepy suburb until a few years ago, Kortedala now has become the hottest place in Göteborg. Forget about Avenyn or Grönsakstorget, this is now clearly the place to go, and the place to be seen! The streets around Kortedala Torg are lined with trendy bars and clubs which are packed every weekend.
A venue not to be missed is 'NÄSAN', a large club often featuring live music from Göteborg's leading bands. The adjacent bar has a large beer and whisky selection (alas at inflated Swedish prices).
For the more alternative crowd, go to 'DÖDA KATTEN', a dark gothic club located in a basement. This place got notorious through the bizarre antics of the owner, Claes Nyquist, who used to throw a dead cat into the crowd at times. (This practice is now discontinued however after complaints from the city's health department).
Dress Code:
Fashionable and street-smart for Näsan, black for Döda Katten.
