  • If you´re coming here from...

    by Martin_Aa Written Sep 7, 2002

If you´re coming here from abroad, you will probably come to Landvetter airport. To get to the city, just take the airportbus from outside the terminal, it´s cheap, comfortable and quick.

You may also arrive by boat from Newcastle, Kiel or Fredrikshavn, in that case you´re already in the city center the moment you step out of the terminal.
There is only one superb way of getting around in Göteborg, our wonderful trams! Ask at your hotel, at the tourist information office or at 'Tidpunkten' (public transportation ticket offices) for a paycard for as many days as you will be here.

The airport is located 25 Km east of Gothenburg. Busses run daily about every 15 minutes into town which cost about
    100 Skr.
You can also get to Gothenburg by train or bus.
The tram and buss communications are good in Gothnburg and you rarly have to wait more then 10 minutes to get where you are going.

    Tram, older model

One thing I like about Gothemburg is the trams. They're comfortable, cheap, safe and, above all, above the ground so while going to my friend's place, I do some sightseeing too!

By plane to the main Landvetter airport (scheduled flights with SAS, Lufthansa, BA, Air France etc.) or the more central but small Saeve airport (Ryanair).

    The Gothenburg

In 1745, the East Indiaman Gotheborg fully laden on homecoming from China after a two year long voyage ran into a rock in the Gothenburg port entrance and sank.

If you travel by train, you will arrive at the Central Station. It's just a few walking minutes to the Nordstan, the biggest shopping mall I've ever seen.
