Last minute train tickets
Trains are expensive in Sweden, unless you´re under 26, when you pay lower price. If those days are gone, the cheapest way to travel by train is getting a "förköps"-bought ahead, ticket, which means you buy your ticket 7 days before travelling. There´s also a "sista-minuten"-ticket, which you can buy within 24 hours before travelling, but you´ve gotta be under 26 or over 65. There´s always a chance that the train is already full, so you shouldn´t count on this. There´s always slow trains and fast trains and the safest bet is to go to the trainstation and ask what is the cheapest way to get somewhere.
Bus to Copenhagen
If you´re staying for Göteborg for a while, a trip to Copenhagen is a good idea.
Shäfflebus cost you around 200Sek, depending on the season. It leaves from the busstation and you can purchase tickets in the bus. the trip takes about 4 hours and you can see the beautiful landscape of Sweden.
One thing I like about Gothemburg is the trams. They're comfortable, cheap, safe and, above all, above the ground so while going to my friend's place, I do some sightseeing too!
