Slottsberget is a hill that used to be dominated by a castle in the middle ages. This is where the border to Denmark used to be and the castle was strategic placed on the hill overlooking the great area of both sides of the border. You can still see the ruined castle if you look very closely. The hill has a beautiful view of the surrounding area...more
In this bowling place they have something that they call "discobowling". And no, it doesn't mean that you have to dance, but simply that they add music and discolights to the bowling. There is also a bar where you can buy alcohol, some simple food and snacks. Call to book in advance.more

10000-12000 years ago the ice melted and the enormous km thick ice pushed the landmass and shaped it to hills and ravines. According to our old King Waldemar II memoirs the Danish and Swedish border was right here at the falls at the year 1200. At the outlet of the falls there are remainings from an old mill that easily can be spotted. There are also ancient remains from settlers who lived there 600-800 a.d. Viking Axes is also found here.more

Fertile earth makes it very easy to grow everything from wheat to potatoes. Take a morning trip out in the small fields and smell the dung and enjoy the morning dew! Or go there to see animals that are easily spotted in the mornings as Roe Deers, hare and lots of birds! I can guarantee that you'll at least see 5-10 Roe Deers in one morning!more
Casablanca is one out of two restaurants in Skene, except for a couple of pizza places. The staff is really friendly and loves to chat if you're interested in that. The food is good and the prices are reasonable. The surroundings aren't beautiful really, but the staff makes the visit worth it anyway.
Favorite Dish: Well I'm a vegetarian so I can only recommend the veggie menue (which is only one or two dishes. However I'm sure that the staff can make you something special if you ask nicely).
The busses are running pretty frequently from Nils Erikssons Terminalen (Central Station) in Gothenburg. The number of the bus is 300, the trip takes about 50 minutes and the price is around 80 SEK per person.
You pay for the trip on the bus.
This is one of the cheapest supermarkets in Skene with a large range of grocerys and products.
What to buy: BRA has a good range of cheeses which might be fun to try if you like cheese. The fruit and vegetables are also fresh and nice.
What to pay: Depends on what you're buying of course, but it's definitly cheaper than most supermarkets in the area.
LOL I think this is they most common way to see where Elks have been. If it's fresh you know they are around. It doesn't smell that bad but if you get it under your shoe wash it away as soon as possible! The smell will stick to your shoe for months otherwise!Fun fact:Some people sell elkshit to tourist for a quite large amount of money. If you want...more

The stream of Slottsån is a digression from the river of Viskan that runs through southern Västergötland and northern Halland. Many people come here to canoe, probably because it's surronded by beautful forests and yellow fields.
Equipment: Just bring your canoe - if you happen to have one with you - and a picnic bag. Otherwise you can rent gear from the Tourist Information.
