Getting Around Västra Götalands län

There are 2 budget airlines that will take you to Västra Götaland. Ryanair and Wizz Air ply between Göteborg City Airport and various destinations in Europe. The following connections currently (January 2009) are available:
Ryanair
Göteborg > Alicante, Barcelona (Girona), Bremen, Dublin, Düsseldorf (Weeze), Frankfurt (Hahn), Glasgow, Klagenfurt, London (Standsted), Milan (Orio), Marseille (MP2)
Wizz Air
Göteborg > Budapest, Gdansk, Warszawa

Göteborg City Airport is located close to Säve, around 17 km North of Göteborg. Shuttle buses are available for 60 SEK (adult, one way). The buses leave 50 minutes after scheduled flight arrivals and the journey takes around 30 minutes. For detailed info:

Local public buses also pass near the airport. Bus Nr. 36 stops at "Säve Flygplats". For more info:

There are also buses taking you from Göteborg City Airport to Karlstad via Uddevalla, Trollhättan, Vänersborg, Brålanda, Mellerud, Åmål, Säffle and Grums. For schedules and prices:

Avis, Hertz, Europcar and Sixt all have pickup stations at the airport. There also is a taxi station, the fixed price from Göteborg City Airport to Göteborg main station is SEK 320. But nevertheless don’t forget to agree the price with the taxi driver in advance!
