This is one of the villas at the Ronnum Manor. This hotel, in nearby Vargon and very close to the SAAB factory, is used by the European delivery program (the U.S. program includes a free night here and dinner). Most likely, guests will stay at the annex connected to the main building.
This villa is to the left (when facing the main building). Among the buildings to the left, it is the furthest left of 3 buildings (farthest away from the main building)
If you are travelling all the way to Sweden to pickup your SAAB, you must visit the SAAB Bilmuseum. It is near the river in the south part of the city. There is an overhead blue traffic sign over highway 45 that directs you to the museum. It is open 11-4. It will be reopen after recent renovations around May 23. These renovations were done for the launch party of the SAAB 9-3 Sport Combi. This type of body style is very popular in Sweden, much more so than in the U.S.
There is an admission fee.
The official webpage is shown below. There are several unofficial website that are not sponsored by SAAB (including http://www.saabmuseum.com )
"Bil" is the Swedish word for "car".
You do not have to buy a car to be able to visit the factory. The factory builds the 9-3 and 9-5 models. If you can arrange a factory tour, go to the main gate (long word that starts with an H). The SAAB car museum can arrange for a tour. Their telephone number is +46 (0)520 84344 or, in Sweden, 0520 84344
It is forbidden to take photographs of the inside of the factory.
On the factory tour, they show you the outside of the old (current) office building, the new (former) office building, paint shop, and metal recycling building. They also show you the insides of the body shop (where large metal parts are stamped), as well as the final assembly building.
ANA is a company owned by SAAB that operates several SAAB dealers. The SAAB importers to the United States, Australia, and Canada have special IDS programs where one can pay for a SAAB in their home country and pick up the car in Sweden for a few days to a few months. Afterwards, the car is shipped to their home country.
ANA Trollhattan is located on 45 (Vag 45) which is the main north-south highway in the eastern part of the city.
Vanersborg is very close to Trollhattan. Some people visit this small city as it sits on the banks of Lake Vanern, which is the 3rd largest lake in Europe. People say that elk can sometimes be seen east of the city.

The SAAB Car Museum is near the river in the south part of Trollhattan. When travelling on 45, the main highway on the west part of the city, there are large, clearly marked blue signs to the SAAB Bilmuseum.
The museum is closed for a few months until May 25, 2005.
There are many SAAB cars that are not seen in other car museums.
SAAB originally built only aircraft but after the World War II, they considered what to make in addition to aircraft. They considered kitchen appliances, but decided on building cars. SAAB's were originally very economical cars but are now more up-market. They are known for their turbocharged engines, front wheel drive, Swedish design, safety, and sportiness.
A few years ago, the "Film i Väst" company decided that Trollhättan had what they needed to set up a more permanent film studio. This has become a huge success and more companies are now involved. Several Swedish films from recent years have been shot here but also international ones like Dancer in the Dark with Björk and Dogville with Nicole Kidman. In fact, it has become such a feature of town that the centre now has its own Walk of Fame with Nicole Kidman's star perhaps the most popular one.
Film i Väst takes bookings for visits but are very fully booked. Another alternative is to buy the film map of Trollhättan from the tourist office and walk around the town features.
The impressive waterfalls caused by bends in the Gotha River used to be a noisy but loved feature of the town but are these days more irregular since a damm and locks were constructed. That is not to say they aren't still impressive! The water is released for instance weekends in June to August which is a great time to visit as the damm is opened. During the Swedish main holiday period in July, you can also see it Friday nights.
Should you be in Trollhättan at other times or simply not have seen enough, you can wander around the fall area, taking in four different half hour routes. One route takes you to Kopparklinten with a good view of both the town and the falls.
A detailed description of the factory is in these webpages under "Travelogue" (see bottom of these pages for the link)
Kungalv is north of Gothenburg. When driving from Trollhattan to Gothenburg, one passes by Kungalv.
