From Vevey there are specialty trains that take you to various detinations. This one goes to Le Pleiades, high atop the mountains overlooking the lake. It's well worth the trip. The train stops at small towns along the way.
One of the most pleasurable afternoons I spent on Lake Geneva was the five hour boat ride from Vevey to Geneva. Sitting outside in the sun, eagerly watching the arrival of each now town we stopped out and jotting them down in my journal for future visits, truly felt like I was living the lifestyle of the rich and famous. Crew members come around to take drink orders. As you near Geneva, you get a great view Mt Blanc. Jet d'eau signals that the trip is nearing its end, the giant plume of water shooting up into the lake. From Geneva, you can walk a few blocks to the train station and take a one hour train back to Vevey.
This train leaves the station in Vevey and travels through the vineyards that line the hillsides in the Vaud. Its stops allow passengers to sample some of the specialties of the area.
