the arcades of Schlosskeller in Brig

Schlosskeller is the name of a great restaurant that you will find inside the old Stockalperhouse / Altes Stockalperhaus, the first palace of this wealthy family-clan. From the gardenrestaurant you will have a great view of the baroque arcades around the innercourt.

Favorite Dish: I just had a coffee and cake and it was very good. And when you are in the southern part of Switzerland why not tasting some great wine from that area :
"St. Saphorin" is my favorite swiss white wine.

Just a simple local trattoria - mainly doing Pizzas and rosti - Swiss speciality of grated potato. Seemed popular with the locals so we thought we'd give it a try one night.

Favorite Dish: Rosti and Bratwurst or egg - surprisingly no bread was served with this, most unusual not to be given bread in a restaurant. Portion size was OK but not enough if really hungry - could alwys pop across to the kebeb house opposite!
Cost was 17-20 Sfr for main course.

SchlossKeller: Not only food, but atmosphere!

The restaurant of choice in Brig, espacially for its atmosphere. Besides, you will not be charged much extra for such a thing. I mean, there are scores of places where such atmosphere will come more expensive
    and add to your bill.

Here, there's a good 6 (!) course menu for 48 SFR, including pate', salad, first course,
second course, cheese, dessert. Drinks are extra.

The setting is either a hall dating back to 1640 (might be a historical sight itself!), or a picturesque terrace with arches.
