Bahnhofstrasse on a Sunday morning by HORSCHECK The main shopping street of Zermatt is the Bahnhofstrasse (Station street) which runs from the train station in the north to the Kirchplatz (Church Square) in the south. It is full with all sorts of shops; mainly selling tourist souvenirs and outdoor equipment. Many of the shops are even open on Sundays. Besides all the shops you also find fancy hotels, many cafes and nightlife venues here. The street seems to be bustling with tourists all day long. This is quite a contrast to the tranquility of the mountains. Leave a Comment Theme: Gifts

Swiss made high technology by Tripack Zermatt is not only an alpine paradise but also a shopping paradise. Escpecially for luxury goods as watch, jewellery or Swiss chocolate ;-). Why not to let you tempt by a Swiss made watch from a famous brand, usually there are available only in the big Swiss cities but also in Zermatt. The advantage here is that all luxury shops are close each other as you could make your choice easier. Do not forget to ask the tax free form to get a VAT refund when you’re leaving Switzerland (to know how to process see my shopping tip on my VT Swiss page)

by Fam_Stoica Switzerland is an expensive country; the COOP supermarkets are a good option in order to save your budget.

There is a supermarket in the middle of the town. Unlike other shops in Zermatt, the prices at the supermarket are quite reasonable. So if you just want to grab a few snacks or drinks. the market is your best bet (if you want to spare that is). Im sorry I cant remember the name anymore. But you'll find it. by Carino You know allready the Bahnhofstrasse of Zurich? Then you got the idea. The Zermatt Version is just a bit smaller and of course car free, but about as expensive as its bigger sister in Zurich.
Everything you need!

This shop is amazing. It's mainly for gifts of all sorts, but the owner obviously has a preponderence for angels and other mystical items. There is beautiful handcrafted jewellery, Nativity cribs and figures and figurines of all kinds. It's a real wonderland to walk into.
If angels are your thing, this is where you will find them.
Not cheap by any means. Theme: GiftsAddress: Oberdorfstrasse 2, ZermattDirections: In the main square.

This is a chocoholics paradise. The front window is full of huge slabs of all different varieties of Swiss chocolate, it has to be seen to be believed. Inside it just gets better with hundreds of hand made chocolates and truffles to choose from. I apologise for the photo as it was taken through glass and this doesn't always work for me.
Chocolate, chocolate and more chocolate.
As much or as little as you want. Theme: Food and DrinkAddress: Bahnhofstrasse, Zermatt
