Sunnegga Paradise is located at 2288 metres above sea level. It is known as the "sunny corner" of Zermatt and is a popular destination for families.
Getting there is easy and quick. From the base station in Zermatt, it is just a 3 minute funicular ride. The funicular is quite an experience as it runs underground and on a steep angle, straight up through the mountain.
Once you get to Sunnegga you will see one of the most loveliest views of the Matterhorn IMO. There is a restaurant with a large sun terrace which looked the perfect place to enjoy the views.
Make sure you go to the 'Marmot Observation Post' and see if you can catch a glimpse of these furry rodents.
We walked from Sunnegga back to Zermatt, through the meadows and forest. The walk took around 90 minutes and is down hill all the way - which wasn't as easy as it sounds!
