Great place, specially in summer, where the big outside veranda is totally opened, and during really hot days a gentle breeze of water will assist you during the dinner or lunch.
In winter the veranda is closed, keeping the place warm and nice.
Also a great place for snacks and after dinner.

The food is good but the ambiance of the place and the friendliness of the owners is what makes this place. You have great views of the lake and it is great just to see the locals of all ages just pop in and out.
The meats and pastas are good and it is also a great place just to have a bottle of wine, watch the boats on the lake and the locals.

Really nice little restaurant in front of Lake Maggiore with tables outside you can enjoy the sun and the beautiful view of the lake and the mountains, also you can share with tourists of all countries. The food is good , I visited others restaurants nearby but this one was the best.
Favorite Dish: They serve different kind of food but I loved the "risotto".

The location of the restaurant was nice. It is situated along the lake with many other restaurants. I came across this restaurant simply by picking the most number of diners there. I happen to be lucky that this place is good.
Favorite Dish: I had this special dish called 'Tessinnerplatte'. It comprises of different kinds of cold cuts.
And also, their dessert called 'Striptease' is the main highlight. Its actually coffee ice-cream coated with chocolate in orange liquor and lighted in flame. I was concentrating hard on the act that I ended up too slow in snapping a pic of it.

I have a rule against eating my meals at the hotel where I stay. For the most part, this is a rule that has served me well during my travels. It's said that every rule has it's exception and Albergo Navegna is surely this one.
Having read rave reviews about the hotels restaurant I decided to have my first dinner on the hotel's outside terrace. The view of the lake from the terrace is really beautiful. Because the hotel is tucked away at the quiet end of the lake, it's very peaceful and calm with ever changing attitudes of mist or fog or hazy mountains in the distance.
But it's the food that brought me back nightt after night. The menu is diverse with a nice selection of fish and meat. The pasta dishes are wonderful and homemade. The steak is grilled on the outdoor grill, creating the wonderful smells.
The staff is great and made me feel at home as a solo traveler. I love the way a glass of wine comes in a little pewter jug that provides me with a couple of glasses.
Favorite Dish: As much as I wanted to try as many of the menu items as possible on my stay, I kept coming back to the carpaccio verdure. The assorted vegetables were beautiful and wonderfully prepared and the olive oil was delicious. I felt both pampered and healthy.

Dealing with some lazy moments after the sauna, it's not so easy to find out a restaurant in Orselina without driving downtown Locarno.
This Osteria BellaVista is a good choice for a short dinner, a little bit overpriced but ok.
Favorite Dish: Carne secca !!!

The best spit-roasted chicken and risotto I have ever had is at the Al Pozz. The restaurant is reasonably priced and located across from Lago Maggiore in Muralto. Friendly waiters, nice outdoor seating area. Excellent wine and beer selection. It even has a salad bar.
Favorite Dish: Chicken Castello con Risotto

it's a turn of the 19th century villa turned into a fancy restaurant - with only a handful of tables. it can sit 30 people at the most, so it's really a nice place to go for a quiet romantic meal. This place is strictly for fine dining - noisy groups are not welcome. The cuisine is definitevely creative
Favorite Dish: there's never a set menu - it changeds every day. there's also only one menu - but a delicious one
