Melide is a quiet town, well in winter it is. It was nice to go for walk along the lake especially in the morning. Cool fresh air and even sunshine and snow too. They even have palm trees in Switzerland!!!

Take a walk by the harbour... it's really nice and relaxing. The harbour promenade leads you to the another village on the other side of the lake, Bissone, and it is quite popular. It takes about 20 minutes only...
On the other side of the "lido" (swimming-pool) there's another shorter promenade stretch... even nicer because it is far quieter, but just as nice.

This is a small hotel and restaurant in the centre of the town.
I have been here wtice and both experiences were definitly good. This s not a place for vegeterians though they have vegetable dishes, they express their best with game food: quail, fawn, boar exc.
It's not cheap but also not expensive for swiss standards, if you do not take wine expect to pay about 50€.
Favorite Dish: Game is excellent.

Favorite thing: I was just on the other side of the border for a lake sailing open day which I had joined and which finished before planned so I dealt call_me_rhia's phone and jumped for a quick hallo and... to reply to her complaint that she had invited me so often and I had never gone: next time the visit will be planned and with more time for it :-)...
