The Grotto is situated in one of the cellars dug out of the rocks of San Nicolao at Mendrisio. Enchanting....
Favorite Dish: Polenta cooked over the open fire, served with beans and mortadella sausage, with Gorgonzola cheese., mushrooms, and swilled down with first-class Merlot del Mendrisiotto wine.

To use highways you must purchase and display a tax disc (vignette) on your vehicle. The cost is EUR 40
The penalty for not displaying a disc is €80. They are sold at border crossings, fuel stations and post offices.
