Castles Castles everywhere in Canton Aargau

Many tourists do not realize how much hidden treasures can be found in this Canton.For example:Aargau is known for its history which dates back to the Romans and includes the Habsburgs.Wildegg Castle, above the village of the same name, stands between Aarau and Brugg. It can be seen from afar. Nearby there are other chateaux and fortresses such as Brunegg, Wildenstein, Habsburg, Lenzburg and Hallwyl.The castle, with its many rooms, the extensive garden, the vines and the biologically run farm, is unique.

The great linden tree, in Latin tilia platyphylla scop.This very huge and impressive tree has bewildered many souls and been source to even more phantastic stories...It is said to have been planted in memory of the many people dying to the black death, the plague.22m high and 11m thick it is really an interesting sight. Nice view over the valley of Aare and the castle of Habsburg.
