Getting there... several ways

getting to Appenzell is relatively easy and you have two options: by car or by train. By car the easiest way is to Saint Gallen, then south towards the village of Teufen and then follow the signs to Appenzell.By train is takes about 2 hours from Zurich on a slow local train that will take you directly to Appenzell. A faster alternative is to take an express train to Gossau and then take a local train from there. Theorethically it's also possible to catch a bus from Saint Gallen but it's less handy, as you'll have to transfer to another bus in Teufen.For travel information and timetables check www.sbb.ch, which has an enligh option.
