Buses and trams are an efficient way of transport, but the old centre is best explored on foot. Bus- and tramtickets should be bought in advance.

as Bern is situated rather in center of Switzerland and center of Europe it is easy to come there from every direction by train

Take the train........ you can also come by car, but the park houses are quite expensive!

Traffic is kept out of the Old Town, so the best is to just walk around, wandering the streets and alleys. There are also the trams, which are a great transportation option.
