Gasthaus Zwirgi is a restaurant, about 100 meters above Reichenbachfall. You may walk there from the upper station - passing by the great waterfalls - within 20 minutes . Afterwards you may walk down again, or you may take one of the monster-scooters to drive down the winding alpine-roads - see my pictures & transportation-tip !
During summer Gasthaus Zwirgi is open every day
in winter the restaurant is closed Monday & Tuesday.
Favorite Dish: I had Kaeseschnitte - it is one of my favorite dishes in Switzerland, and also quite cheap compared with other dishes:
A large piece of white bread will be soacked in white wine, some cheese put on top and then it will be backed untill the cheese melts.
Mine had onions and fried-egg as well.
Kaeseschnitte is 17 sfr / 12 Euros
0,5 liter Suessmost / Apfelschorle (applejuice) was 5,20 sfr / 3,80 Euro
The local restauant in Reuti-Hasliberg was just a short walk from Rebibi's family home.
It was well frequented by the locals, the service was good and friendly, the food plentiful...can't ask for more than that!
The delightful chalet style restaurant is situated at the foot of the Brunig Pass, a short drive from our base in Hasliberg-Reuti.
It was a great breakfast stop as we'd left earlyish to go to Engelberg.
There's supposed to be a wonderful view here...but I didn't see it that day :-((
Anyway the breakfast was scrumptious
Croissants, egg and bacon, danish pastries etc....are all available.
here's a pic that Remo took for us.
As for desserts.....did I mention that meringues are the order of the day in this region.....eat your heart out!
This weekend jaunt was soon becoming a feast :-))
Well we went back to this restaurant again with Judy and Maryan. The kebabs were popular that night, but my choice was Bangers and Mash Swiss Style....frankfuter and rosti...yummy
Favorite Dish: The first night we went there, I had alreaady eaten in Lucerne so Rebibi ordered a local platter of cheese and cured meats with various pickles for us to share.....very tasty.
