The world's longest staircase

by barbskie

Niesen Kulm can be reached through hiking or by a nostalgic funicular dated way back 1910. My tip: be sure you are at the right side during your upgoing rides or take the last wagon to see the world's largest staircase very well. It has 11,674 steps and is not open to the public. Mostly used for the personnels of the funicular. Every month of June, the Niesen Stairway Run is organised thus the stairs are open for the said event.
