I, prairie person, am not used to mountains. I was slowly picking my way down a set of steep steps from the high road to the low road. I though that my friend and I were making pretty good progress when we suddenly heard a VERY quick paced 'thumpa thumpa thumpa thumpa' and as we turned around a little blond boy, probably 7 or 8 whizzed past us with a toy truck clutched under his arm. Off to play with a friend. We followed his lead and just let gravity help us down a little bit faster.
In my many trips around Switzerland I have yet to see a single thing to look out for other than the general light-headedness when hiking/climbing at altitude. It would be my pick for safest country in the world.
