My days were soooooo bright and sunny, which is such a fine start....
As you can read/see in my Switzerland page (transportation tips) travelling by train is GREAT in Switzerland and so I did!
While staying in Interlaken I travelled to WENGEN e.g. by train.
Even during that trip it was great to take photos from the train.......the landscape is so fascinatingly beautiful and impressive especially for me, coming from THE LOW LANDS, The Netherlands, flat as a pancake!
Once in WENGEN there is a great variety of HOW and where to spend your day(s)......
www.MySwitzerland.com is a good starting point.........

Just stand in amazement at the view around you on the summit. I somtimes have one of those walking cards where you can put the mountain peak stamp in. Well I didn't have one this time but there was a stamp (hole puncher type) so I punched the hole pattern on my cable-car ticket as a momento. Imagine my surprise when I had finished doing this and there was a queue of Japanese behind me waiting to do thte same thing.......I obviously set a trend here!

Take the Mannlichen cable car for some wonderful high level walks - you really feel as if you could just reach out and touch those mountains. An easy stroll takes you to Kleine Scheidegg, looking across to the Eiger Monch and Jungfrau - one of my fav easy alpine strolls.

From the top of Mannlichen take time to look down below to Wengen, below that the valley of Lauterbrunnen (also known as the valley of waterfalls) and way across on the other side is the highest Jungfrau village of Murren - also a wonderful village to explore.

When we first ascended the trails we hiked through lush forests and trails bordered with wildflowers. Then the farms and valleys with snow capped mountains came in view. This is where I first heard the melodic tones of the cow bells.

A train trip to 'The Top Of Europe'...
The train travels through a tunnel bored directly through the Jungfraujoch mountain itself ascends at a very steep incline to a height of almost 12,000 feet! At the top there is an impressive 'ice museum' (Great!) as well as a restaurant and the 'sphinx'. During the journey through the mountain the train makes a number of stops allowing people to view out onto the region below them at especially built viewing stations.

Wengen and Murren are beautiful places that arent touristy and are pollution free.spend a day in one of these places or stay here and use it as a base to see Jungfroujoch, trummelbach etc.

We walked around this little village while we were waiting on a train to arrive to take us up to the top of the mountains. Spectacular sights all around here.
