Chteau Gtsch - Castle hotel - Lucerne

Château Gütsch is a Castle that can be seen on a mountain top. it is a luxury hotel and can be reached by cable car. I did not have sufficient time but still managed to get a good picture. From the website of the hotel, it seems to be a nice place and a better view from the top.

The Chateau Gutsch, sitting on top of a hill at the western end of the town, overlooking the river. The Chateau is a beautiful building, which is a former luxury hotel but has been closed down for several years now. It looks a bit forlorn sitting up there on the hill and has become a bit of a forgotten piece of Lucerne. Apparently there are great views from the top of the hill over the city below but it has become even more difficult to reach now that the funicular to the top has been closed (don't know if this is just for refurbishment, but it looks to be farly rundown)
It would be a great shame if the Chateau is allowed to deteriorate further, as the building is such a beautiful piece of architecture and was for years, recognised as one of Lucerne's most famous hotels.

    Chteau (now Hotel) Gtsch

This is now the Gutsch Hotel, but I did not made it an accomodation tip because the building itself is worth a visit. This is a 19th century castle - Château Gütsch, perched on a wooded hill way above the town, lit up at night like a fairy-tale palace and with its own funicular for access. PS: this must be my worst picture, but the sun was doing its tricks not to let me take the picture.

The Chateau Gutsch is one of most beautiful hotels that I ever seen.It is located on a hill just outside the city center and really it looks like the Castle at Disney World!!.

It was built in 1,888,well that is what our guide told us,but unfortunatelly we didn't had the chance to go up there to see it for inside and with more details in the exterior. What a shame!!.I promise myself to do it on my next visit to Lucerne, really this Castle-Hotel looks beautiful and I am sure that the views of the whole city and lake from above must be amazing!.
