Take a Walk Along the Reuss River

My wife and enjoyed walking through town and then along both sides of the river. The first photo in this tip is looking down one of the streets in the old town toward one of the many bridges that crosses the Reuss River. If you look real close you may see the stand selling fresh roasted chestnuts on the right hand side of the picture before the river.

Picture #2 shows the bag we bought and our view as we sat down by the rivers edge to enjoy our snack.

Picture #3 shows the river view from our hotel with many enjoying the 60 degree day eating by the river side.

Walk from the train station donw to the Seebridge, Schweizerhofqaui, Casino till to the transport Museum. Enjoy beautiful lakeshore walkway. the walking time is approximately 45 minutes. Return by bus #6 or # 8 back to the railway station. During summer you may take the boat at the Lido/Verkehrshaus station.

    walking along the lake shore

There is a very nice promenade between the "lido" (near verkehrshaus) and the old town, you can enjoy great sights on the lake while walking in the nature. If walking for 15 or 20 minutes is not a problem, you can park the car in the parking near the verkehrshaus (5 chf for the whole day) and then go to the old town walking along this beautiful path.

It's a nice paved path...u can even go there by bike or rollerskates. You will see a wonderful panorama of the mountains and the city...

If u walk a little further u get to a nice park, where u can relax or have a good picnic.
