One neurotic day around Luzern

by marmasel

I would choose Luzern, it's a very beautiful city with everything nearby - lake, moutains (accessible by train), magnificent views, charming cities, barroc churches (Einsiedeln), museums, a great and famous concert hall.Interlaken is also great - the best mountain train trip imo, to Jungfraujoch, the highest train station in Europe. But the city itself is not interesting. Luzern is.This is an example of day trip I did from Luzern (in my neurotic way, doing a lot of things in only one day):9:12: ship to Weggis, arriving 9:53 (Lake Luzern)10:53: ship to Vitznau, arriving at 11:0911:15: Vitznau, at 11:45 to Rigi-Kulm (train, mountain)13:04: train to Arth-Goldau, arr. at 13:4813:53: train to Biberbrugg, arr. Einsiedeln at 15h (abbey)16:13: to Schwyz, passing by Biberbrugg and A-Goldau, arriving 17h. Beautiful main square18h: to Brunnen (beautiful view of the lake), and then back to Luzern
