Café-Konditorei Rosenstaedter: Nice spot for a sit-down
This is a very pleasant and friendly cafe set on Rapperswil's ancient Fischmarkt (and opposite a branch of Macdonald's, which is rather unfortunate).
Its outside tables looked extremely inviting and made an ideal place to rehydrate myself a little whilst sitting in the warm sunshine (sunshine!!).
I didn't want anything to eat but my espresso was excellent and the beer very good too. From what I could see of the meals and snacks people around me were eating, the food looked super and the portion sizes were good. The waitress (you sit at the tables and they come to you) was very pleasant and polite.
The cafe offers 3 daily menus as well as a range of other dishes and snacks..... and some delicious-looking cakes (I resisted).
It's open daily from 0700-1900, though closes on Mondays from November to February.
