La Boule: cozy atmosphere in lazy sundays
It`s a small coffee house with good atmosphere in a small street in the old city of St.Gallen. It was sunday morning and I wanted to have breakfast there...the breakfast buffet was reeeeeally small and very expensive. So I asked for something beside that...I ate a small bretzel...and hot chocolate. The people there looked happy and satisfied...it`s probably a tipical breakfast size in Switzerland, but I`m used to more variety, if so expensive. Although the people that work there are really nice and welcoming.
It was a rainy day...it was a good place to take shelter, but really too expensive!

restaurant zeughaus: under construction - castle
There are two restaurants bearing the same name in Sankt Gallen, but you will recognise the one I'm talking about by its man in armour and with a sword painted on its white wall. Zeughaus, in fact, means old armoury.
Favorite Dish: This cosy small restaurant specialises in (revisited) traditional dishes... All good, all on the heavy side, as tradition wants it.
Taste one or more of the 32 types of Roesti!
The restaurant is very small and local...no luxury, but they have 32 different recipes of the tipical swiss food, made with potatos: Roesti.
Favorite Dish: Hmmmm... I had one that was probably called Hawai: with cheese and lots of fruits...it tasted soooo good...and it was too much:-)the portions are pretty big.
There's another type that tastes like pizza.

Everywhere in the city.: Don't miss the tipical "Bratwurst"!
It's the best Bratwurst in Switzerland. People eat it walking through the small streets and seeing what each store offers:-)it's very nice!
You have to buy it with the fresh bread, that's called "Buerli".

Well I ain't no fan of Chinese food, especially when it makes very little sense to taste Chinese food during my short trip to... Switzerland. But everybody was so enthusiastic I had to follow. I ordered Turkish food downstairs, instead.
the best restaurants of...
the best restaurants of St.Gallen you might find between main railway station and the Monastery (Kloster-Stiftsbibliothek) among else a Risotteria, Greek restaurant and Indian restaurant
Favorite Dish: most famous of St.Gallen is the sausage 'Bratwurst'
The restuarant at the summit...
The restuarant at the summit of Santis is excellent! It's like eating in an airplane, except that the food is much better, there is plenty of room to stretch out an relax, and there seemed to be an absence of crying babies, which is alway a plus!

You have to go and eat at the restaurant Gschwend. It's located near the main square Marktplatz/Bohl. There you can eat traditional Swiss food but very excellently cooked.
If you're nice with the staff, you'll get anything you want!
Favorite Dish: You won't find Cheese Foundue there, but try Foundue Chinoise. It's with different meet, boiled in a clear soup, served with sauces, salad, rice and french fries.
I was in McDonalds, restaurant...
I was in McDonalds, restaurant downstairs in my hotel, and a buffet-type eating place inside one of the shopping centers. I was scared by the rumours of ridiculously expensive dinners. However, in a buffet I limited to 9 CHF, and that was much less than I expected. However, I can admit that dinner in more expensive a'la carte restaurant in more expensive city would blow up my 30EUR/day budget. There are also lot of Indonesian restaurants in St. Gallen - I saw three, walking randomly across the streets.
Birreria: To have a beer.. or two.. or three..
Really nice place to have a beer or drink. This bar was my regular bar while staying in St.Gallen. Here you can have beers from all over the world. FOR example FINNISH LapinKulta. HAHAA :-D
