Warm February Clothing in Schaffhausen

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: Schaffhausen is definitely considered a winter destination in February. Although we had beautiful sunny weather on the day we were here, it was still very cold. The temperature was forecasted for 45 degrees fahrenheit, but I would be surprised if it was 30 at its high. Sarah and I were very cold in our fleece coats and gloves, and I would have preferred an overcoat. Pack warm, don't worry about layering, as the cold clothing will do you good the whole time in February!

Clothing/Shoes/Weather Gear: If this is a day trip you're taking from say, Zurich, then you won't need to worry about packing or your luggage....

If you're intending to stay at this town for a few days or even, overnight, then don't forget to pack adequately i.e. DO plan your wardrobe in such a way that you'll have no problem mixing and matching your outfits and it should bring you from day to night.

Toiletries and Medical Supplies: DON'T forget to transfer all your toner, cleanser, night cream et al into small plastic containers.

Photo Equipment: For non-photographic buffs like myself, I would recommend a state-of-the-art 'point and shoot' camera... Yeah, like even a dummy would- know-how-to-use-it kind of camera. Films are VERY expensive here in Switzerland (oh yes!), so bring enough films with you....

Miscellaneous: DON'T forget to bring along your much-treasured ATM card and.... an open mind.

Remember, if your ATM card is linked to the international networks of 'Cirrus', 'Plus', 'The Exchange' etc, you can withdraw money from any ATM machines in the world!! Really. And what's more, you'd even benefit from the low interbank exchange rates being given to you vis-a-vis the rates your local money-changer charges. I have survived on this method for ALL my trips abroad and so far, no ATM machines in this world have failed me. Yet. If you haven't tried using this method i.e. use your ATM card instead of traveler's checks OR changing your money into Swiss Francs BEFORE your trip, I challenge you to do so today! And be pleasantly surprised at how much you can save at the end of the day using this method.

Good luck!
