Favorite thing: In 2010 we got new LED christmas lights in Bahnhofstrasse. They are called Lucy and don't shine all that brightly. They were improved this year in 2011 but still some buildings are lit up so bright that Lucy looks very dim. Of course they do look better in reality than on the photos.

Favorite thing: The main shopping street is Bahnhofstrasse. When you exit the train station, the street is "gerade aus" or right in front of you. It leads from the station to a park on the lake. It is less than 2 km long and can easily be walked in 1 hour (allow extra time for shopping). There are many old buildings along this street so look skyward! The river is only one block away with important sites. More to follow as I build my page.

Favorite thing: Unfortunately, the old soft lights have gone. They were replaced by these CHF 20 million sterile lights that have nothing to do with Christmas at all. There is a big controvery about them. Well, decide for yourself what to think. Luckily,some side street still have the old lights which gives you more of a Christmas feeling.

Favorite thing: We keep on walking on the Bahnhof street.. The street is 1,4 km long and the start is the main station and the other end is the Lake Zurich..

So I thought it is nice to stroll till the end.. While walking on the street, we have passed the "Stadt Amts hauser".. And behind the passage you can see the Prediger Church, which is on the old section of the city..

Favorite thing: Before going to Zurich, I didnt have time to search for sites.. All I could find about was the Bahnhof strasse (Main station street)..

So When I reached the main train station, I go out and Bahnhof strasse was just infront of me.. Just in front of the station there was a fountain, so I couldnt move without having a photo of the train station and the fountain behind me..

Bahnhof street is a pedestrainized street, only tram is passing and shoppers.. The street is full of jewellery, Watches and Clothes shops.. But only after some time I realized that its not my style, So it was a bit a tourist trap..

Favorite thing: Walking up and down the Bahnhofstrasse for shopping in some of the most exclusive shops in Switzerland.
Buy watches from Omega, Rolex or Swatches only. Go for Gucci and such shops. Buy at Sprüngli the exculive sweets they offer or just take a look here...!
