You may take the train from Lucerne to Kuessnacht, it is just a short distance and plenty of trains will go there all day .Hohle gasse is a bit outside of the village, BUT plenty of signposts will lead you there. The distance to the lake is maybe 800 meters and the local bus goes there as well and stops at the stop : Hohle Gasse
In the building above the bus-station named "Hohle Gasse" there is the museum, I mentioned in my other tips !
S3 takes about 38 minutes from Luzern / Lucerne to Kuessnacht am Rigi !
Make sure you search for Kuessnacht am Rigi !!

Of course you may go to Kuessnacht by ship from Luzern / Lucerne. These ships go on a regular schedule and while they skip various stations along the way, they ALWAYS stop in Kuessnacht.
Take a day-ticket, that is the easiest and allows you to make stop-overs at all of the ports of call, or take the Tell-pass, that is the best means of transportations for the area :
Tell-Pass is the perfect ticket for the area around Luzern/Lucerne & Viewaldstaettersee. The ticket is available for 7 or 15 days and includes 2 or 5 days of FREE rides and the rest of the days you pay just 50%.

Totally included in this ticket are: Rigi Kulm + Buergenstock + Pilatus + the ships on Lake of Lucerne and most trains around of it, the trains to Engelberg & Truebsee, to Meiringen-Brienz-Interlaken etc.etc.etc.

Take a look at the detailed map at their web-page!

You pay just 140 sfr/95euros(7 days) or 188 sfr/122euros(15 days) and everyday in the morning you may decide for yourself, if you choose that day as one of the 2/5 days for the free rides. Holders of a Halbtax-abo get an additional reduction of 28sfr/38 sfr.
