Trail from Leukerbad to Albinen takes you past the lower terminal of the Torrent cable-car as far as to Leiterngraben, where you have to climb eight ladders, halfway to Flaschen. The lower terminal of the cable car to Rinderhütte on Torrent is located here. The route then continues along an asphalt road to Albinen - allow 2 hours for this hike

In 2003, in the spirit of the UN International Year of Freshwater, Leukerbad celebrated the opening of the first thermal spring trek in Switzerland. While rambling through the village and the Dala Valley, you will see nine graphic panels with information on springs and hot water at Leukerbad's most important thermal springs. It will answer questions such as:
Where does Leukerbad's thermal water come from?
How hot is Leukerbad's water when it gushes from the springs?

11 June 2005 the Thermal Spring Guild Leukerbad reopened the Thermal canyon walk, which now offers wheelchair access as far as the cascade of the Dala gorge. Following the upgrading of the section leading to the waterfall, wheelchair users now have the opportunity to experience with all their senses the natural environment of the thermal springs and the raging waters. The path leads 600 meters into the gorge, the force of the water is almost within reach, along mossy rock faces, until you reach a 35 meter deep waterfall. Over narrow stairs the trail leads along the edge of the waterfall to its source, a spring. Perfectly shaped and almost artistically designed it lies in the Dala gorge

We really enjoyed all the facilities offered by the town of Leukerbad. The ski hire in the town was efficient and the nearby nursery slopes (in our limited experience!) were well organised - as usual we have found in Switzerland, and fun.
When we were a little more confident we ventured up the Torrent, a 2 stage cable car or a large godola to the top, where there are many more km's of pistes for all levels and the most incredible views!
The thermal baths in Leukerbad (2, one called Burgerbad and the other Alpentherme) both very large and well organised - again, were, for us a unique experience and a treasured memory of family fun.
