Favorite thing: Meride is a tiny village in southern switzerland - and more precisely in the italian speaking area. It's definitely not touristic and it's a little charming place to visit: there are some interesting churches and houses with amazing frescos, and there's a grerat little mountain: monte san giorgio. Tentative directions: mendrisio - rancate - arzo - meride.
Fondest memory: What's special about this mountain is that it's basically covered in fossiles: you just need to dig a little bit (illegally, of course - but most people do it anyway) and you may find some interesting past forms of life. In the village there's a museum dedicated to the san giorgio's findings.
