Fräkmuntegg Restaurant offers a large sun terrace with impressive views of Mount Pilatus and the Alpine panorama. Its location is just next to the gondola station at 1416 metres and is the departure point for many walks, hikes and leisure activities in summer and winter.
Open all year round and coincide with the operation hours of the Kriens - Krienseregg - Fräkmüntegg panorama gondola.
Typical Swiss food here with breaded snitchel (spelling ?)and rostis the flavour of the day. It was quiet on a week day, the week after Easter so there was plenty of space to eat outside and it was warmer than at the summit. The cable car offered an alternative to the path if you really needed it. The car looks like it is designed to carry 2/3 people and a sledge. Good fun.
There are some food stands on the viewing platform of the mount. The restaurant Bellevue is also a hotel and it serves local tidbits. I can recommend the Roesti (like hashbrowns, and the come in two or three different styles). It´s a swiss specialty and they are really really good.
The tables are at the rim and on a clear day you´ll have an amazing view of the surrounding mountains, including Switzerlands highest mountain, the Jungfrau. Even in summe they´re snow-capped.
