Great ambiance.....we were there for Apres Ski.....and had a late lunch....
This place ROCKS...and was packed for Apres Ski....they stay open until 5 in the afternoon for Apres Ski....then in order to set it up for dinner they close for an hour and a half....and re-open for dinner...
Rucksack also doubles as a Duty Free Shop...one of the many that are all over the Village and has all of the usuals..perfumes...liquors....cigarettes..and some souvenirs and post cards..
It was busy and fun...sing-along music and cold beer...

The ambiance here was nice....the interior of the restautant was all wooden..comfortable...and quite large...
The service was excellent and the food served hot!
Favorite Dish: The food was GREAT.....Andrea had a mixed grill dinner...I enjoyed a really tender Schnitzel with lingonberry sauce on the side..with boiled potatoes..if youre curious....lingonberry is like a cranberry I guess...anyhow its a great side for schnitzel...and YES the schnitzel was very good.
Andrea reported that her meal was very good....as did Andy....all of us were quite happy with the food...

I had an icecream here and Lothar an Irish Coffee. Both was OK. When Lothar was talking with the waitress it was in an exotic language I never heard him speaking before. I first thought it was Romantsch, the ancient Romanic language spoken in the Engadin area of Switzerland (but the locals in Samnaun speak Tyrolean dialect, in this valley one can hear Romantsch only in the regional radio) but it was Portuguese - many Portuguese are working here and their language has not so little in common with Romantsch, there are more similarities than with Italian.

This is the place to go after a days skiing! Its located directly at the end of the "Zeblas-Abfahrt", Skirun 80.
So after a days skiing and doing the final run down to the valley you arrive on the terrace of this place.
From 3 pm the DJ plays "Apres-Ski" music, when its nice weather outside, otherwise inside. Have a nice Glühwein or a Jagatee to warm up or a Beer to kill the thirst after Skiing and enjoy the music. Food is available too.
At 6pm the place closes and opens again at 7pm for dining.
In the building there is a duty-free shop too where you can shop until midnight!
The concept, architecture and decoration of this place is perfect, in the afternoon you get apres-ski, party, drinks and music in a alp-hut-feeling. After the clean a few table cloths, candles and different lighing changes the place to a cosy and comfortable place to eat.
Favorite Dish: As we always stay on half board we only visited the place for a few drinks after skiing. But apparantly the food is very good!

In the Restaurant La Marmotte which belongs to the Bergrestaurant Alp Trida you get a big choice of local and international food. This Restaurant is also accessible by non-skiers by the big gondola from Samnaun to Alp Trida Sattel and then by a chair lift to Alp Trida.
Favorite Dish: One day we had the "Hochzeitssuppe" which was just delicous.

Every year I go skiing for at least one week. My favorite place for skiing is the Ski Arena Samnaun-Ischgl. This year I could enjoy two weeks skiing in one of the biggest ski resorts of the alps.
