Snow shoes walking in winter

For those who like to do snow shoes walking in winter, San Bernardino has some tracks that are really good.

The first one basically follows the ski tracks uphill, pretty tiring and steap.
The second one follows the old Pass Road that will bring you to the mountain top.

Keep in mind you are in the mountains and weater can change quickly in good or really really bad, so be ready with appropriate clothes and equipment, and always give an eye to the sky and listed to the wind.

If you decide to take the old Pass Road, always stay on the road, which is signaled by yellow-black poles at side.

I suggest never to go out in fresh snow because of avalance risk.
The first track takes about 1 hour and it's about 5 KM.
The second, on the old Pass road, it's about 15 KM.

The Pass of San Bernardino

The Pass of San Bernardino is really unique.
Drive the road to the top of the mountain, in the middle of the green forest and then enjoy the fantastic landscape around.

On the top of the Pass there's a fantastic lake where you can enjoy a little break.

A view to the lake

There weren't any special reason why we stopped here while we were driving through Switzerland. We just saw the mountains around a lake with a dike and that was enough.

The place is absolutely beautiful and calm, so don't hesitate! Take a walk to the dike and enjoy the clear and fresh air!
