If I had to visit Europe

by breughel

If I had to visit Europe (for the first time) I would look on VT Europe Travel Guide to see what are the most popular destinations. The 5 first are PARIS, LONDON, ROMA, BARCELONA, AMSTERDAM.The cities you are interested in are:Paris is n°1, Amsterdam n° 5 on the list.Brussels is n° 16; Luxembourg is not in the list of the 50 most popular; Berlin is n° 8;Munich n° 17; Hamburg n° 44; Prague n° 12; Vienna n° 9.It's clear from this rather objective list of what you should visit in Europe that you could skip Luxembourg and Hamburg. After ranking the cities according to their popularity ranking on VT I would look at the distances. Here your list of interest makes things somewhat less easy.Paris, London, Amsterdam and Brussels in West Europe are close to each other by the fast trains Eurostar and Thalys. For Berlin, Prague or Vienna in central Europe travelers from West Europe will usually fly...

Europe.

by Dizzyhead

Well, how do you want to discover the continent Europe. There are many options. You can go by car, by bus or by train. Nowdays there also many cheap air flights between many countries in Europe, Ryanair and other companies has changed the travelling situation in Europe. Another thing is that many countries have the same currency. There is no problems to travel between neither west and east, nor north and south. You have so many things to do here. Europe is a continent with many nations, languages, cultures, minorities and regions. It has something for everybody. Some parts of Europe is very expensive and some parts are very expensive. You choose where you will go and how much you can afford. WELCOME!!!

ITALY: Siena - give it at least 24 hours

by globetrott

The old centre of Siena is quite small and you can do everything easily by walking, although this town is nowhere totally flat, you actually have to walk slightly uphill or downhill almost everywhere. Even the main square is that way.The Duomo, the cathedral is one of the most impressive churches I ever saw and Libreria Piccolomini is full of great frescos and paintings.Chiesa di S.Niccolo in Sasso was my absolute highlight of a visit to the Museo dell'Opera (see my last picture)
